This page is dedicated to keeping the memories alive for some of the specialist critters.

Tasha

Tasha was a domestic shorthair housecat that lived for 13 years at Claire's Critters. She was adopted by a loving elderly couple after being on a "kill list" at a local shelter. After the couple fostered her for a few months, Claire ended up adopting her for her permanent home. Out of all the kittens available, Tasha was the only kitten that was not scared of Claire and loved attention.
Tasha lived spoiled for many years and ate only the finest of Fancy Feast. She was friends with Sammy the black house cat and he cared for her like a little sister. Tasha's favorite game as a kitten was to play fetch with Claire's hair ties. Tasha had her share of health issues over the years, but loving care kept her healthy for many years.
Unfortunately, Tasha suddenly fell ill with the failure of her kidneys and pancreas in March 2026. She could not be saved and was at the end of her life. Claire was with Tasha until the very end and made sure that Tasha knew she was very loved. Tasha and her beautiful spirit will be missed greatly and Claire is creating a memorial for Tasha on the property.

Lucky Bird

Lucky was an all black pigeon with red feet that was found alone on the back patio at 2 weeks old. Claire took her in and fed her homemade bird food through a syringe until she grew big and strong. Lucky liked to ride on Claire's shoulder and took pride in the many eggs she laid. Unfortunately, at one year old, an accident with another foster animal took Lucky's life too soon and she has passed away. She was a very special bird and will be greatly missed by all.
